RECALLED BODYBOARDS

I needed to know about. I'm sharing it,just in case anyone has one. See the article below.


"Recalled: Body boardsThu, June 18, 2009 (BabyCenter News) —
JGR Copa has announced a recall of about 900 body boards in cooperation with the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).The green surface coating of the screened logo “Big Lizard body boards” on the underside of the body board contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard. Lead is toxic if ingested by young children and can cause serious health effects. No injuries have been reported.
This recall involves the 18-inch kick body board. The board came in various designs including peace signs, a white hibiscus, and a yellow smiley face. A green lizard and the words “Big Lizard body boards” are printed on the underside in green.The body boards were sold at Walmart, Beachwear Outlet, Bargain Beachwear, Beach Village Inc., FJ Health & Beauty, Mor USA Inc., Shipwreck-Ocean Jewels, and Wilcor International Inc. from January 2009 through May 2009 for about $4. They were made in China.

• Immediately take the body board away from your child and return it to the store where you bought it or to JGR Copa for a full refund.
